Installation Instructions

1. Wipe all wire surfaces clean.
2. Mark all the insulated wires at ¾" and 2-¼" with a permanent marker. Tips:
   1. a. The ¾" length is imprinted on the connector body, for your convenience.
   2. It may be advantageous to slightly bevel the tip of the insulation to facilitate insertion of the wire into the CONDUCTOR SLEEVE.

   Mark all bare copper wires at 2-¼" from the tip of the wire.
4. Remove the CONDUCTOR SLEEVEs from the connector.
5. It is not necessary to use a CONDUCTOR SLEEVE for wire sizes 1/0 and 2/0 AWG. Insert these size wires directly into the CABLE INLET PORTS. Discard the CONDUCTOR SLEEVE and go to step 10.
6. The CONDUCTOR SLEEVE has markings to determine where to cut-off the tip for insertion of the right size wire. Use a sharp blade or utility knife to cut the tips off. Use the provided lubricant to coat the tip wire insulation for facilitating insertion. Because irrigation wires have much thicker insulation than building wire, the marking on the CONDUCTOR SLEEVE may not be correct. Always cut the smallest tip of the CONDUCTOR SLEEVE. If the wire won’t slide into it, cut to the next larger opening until you have a tight fit.
7. Re-insert the CONDUCTOR SLEEVEs into the connector WIRE INLET PORTS, one at a time.
8. Insert the appropriate wire into the CONDUCTOR SLEEVE until the 2-¼" marking is flush with the end of the CONDUCTOR SLEEVE.
9. Tighen the corresponding SET SCREW to the proper torque. See Table 1.

10. A typical torque wrench for this application is the Park Tool PTD-4 and it can be found at https://www.parktool.com/product/preset-torque-driver-ptd-4. The PTD-4 torque wrench comes with METRIC bits only.
